Step-by-Step Guide to Wrapping a Car in Singapore
CarWrapSG — Ever wondered what actually happens when a car gets wrapped? A full wrap takes 3–5 days and involves multiple careful stages. Here's a complete walkthrough.
Step 1: Consultation & Design
Choose your colour and finish from physical swatch samples. For printed wraps, we create digital mockups on your actual vehicle for approval.
Step 2: Material Selection
Premium vinyl from 3M, Avery Dennison, and KPMF. We measure your vehicle and calculate 15–25 metres of material needed.
Step 3: Surface Preparation
- Thorough wash including door jambs and panel gaps
- Clay bar treatment removes embedded contaminants
- IPA wipe removes oils, waxes, silicones
- Damage inspection for existing paint issues
- Partial disassembly of handles, mirrors, badges
Step 4: Installation
- Cutting vinyl to rough panel sizes
- Squeegee application from centre outwards
- Heat forming around curves and bumpers
- Tucking and trimming for invisible edges
- Post-heating to activate adhesive memory
Step 5: Detail Work & Reassembly
Door jambs, edges around lights, and recesses wrapped. Trim and badges reinstalled over the wrap for a seamless finish.
Step 6: Curing & Quality Check
12–24 hours curing. Comprehensive inspection covering edge adhesion, bubbles, colour consistency, and tuck depth.
